The Full Story:  Why I Coach

When I began my MBA at Columbia, a colleague told me, “Amynah, I think you could add some soul back into Corporate America.”

At the time, I didn’t fully understand what they meant. But years later, as I stepped into my first leadership role, the comment resurfaced, and it finally made sense.

Throughout my career, I led with intention: creating space for every voice, asking questions instead of providing answers, and cultivating ownership and accountability within my teams. Over time, colleagues described me as a teacher, someone who helped them grow rather than manage their tasks.

Their feedback revealed something I hadn’t yet named. I found deep fulfillment in helping others develop, expand their confidence, and step into their potential. That realization planted the seed for coaching.

I’ve witnessed firsthand the power of grounded, emotionally intelligent leadership, and the cost when it’s missing. Strong leadership builds resilient, high-performing teams. Short-sighted leadership burns them out. I coach because I believe leadership can and must be different.

I help leaders move beyond imposter syndrome, fear of failure, and limiting beliefs so they can lead with authenticity and courage. I support individuals navigating career transitions, helping them make decisions with clarity and confidence. And I’m deeply committed to seeing more women rise into the C-suite because balanced leadership drives better decisions, healthier companies, and more sustainable growth.

Even in an age dominated by technology, human connection remains irreplaceable. Coaching is my way of bringing that “soul” back—one leader, one transition, one turning point at a time.
